Hummm, good question!

Did you think I would actually have the answer to this? Ha! Gotcha!

All I know is that it’s not easy but I’ve learned a few things very quickly that I’ll share with you.

When it’s 2 against 1:

1. Always have a snack ready for your toddler when nursing your newborn. This will ensure your toddler’s belly has some food in it and she is happy.

2. Have your toddler’s potty close by, along with toilet paper. You never know when they will have to go and while nursing a newborn you can’t just stop when you want to or they will LOOSE it.

3. Nurse in a location that your toddler can play in with her toys.

4. Have conversations with your toddler while nursing and it’s okay to promise her a treat afterwards. The treat does not have to be food related, it can be reading a book together, playing outside just the two of you or something else.

5. Patience! I clearly need a little more patience.

It’s a struggle to balance life with a newborn and a busy growing toddler. Take it one feed at time or one day at a time and it will get better….at least that’s what everyone keeps telling me. 🙂

Slow down mummy I know you work a lot,
but sometimes mummy, its nice when you just stop.

Sit with us a minute,
& listen to our day,
spend a cherished moment,
because our childhood is not here to stay!
