I’m hoping to be able to start running soon. Now, I’m not talking going out for a 5k run or anything but more gradually building my endurance back, not getting hurt and reaping the health benefits of being active again. My plan is to start with more walking and then add in some running so my body get’s use to it and does not break down.
This picture sums up how I am feeling and can’t wait to feel again:
What couldn’t you wait to do after you had a baby?
Did you jump right into running/working out or wait a little while?
Here’s to feeling good!
Picture from Lisa Body Rock TV.
I had my 2nd daughter on December 18. I cannot wait to start running again. I have walked some buy it just isn’t the same. My 4 week follow up appt is this week and I am hoping my dr gives me the go ahead! I know I will have to start off slowly and build back up, but it will be great just to be back out there!
Good luck! Let me know how your running goes.
Good luck with your first run post-baby!
Thanks. It’s been since last July that I ran so I’m quite excited (as I write about it more and more).
Good plan, with little run intervals when you can! Pilates is a great balance to that to. That’s what I did after having my son. Have a great day!
Never though about Pilates…will have to look into that, thanks. I’ve got some great core exercises I am doing now, so I could add to them.
I went for a slow, 5km about three weeks after having Lachlan and started playing soccer about 6 weeks after. My brain enjoyed it all, but my body really didn’t. I was so sore for days after either activity. Take your time and recover well. Those first workouts will make you feel like you’re getting back to your old self again 🙂 Enjoy!
Hey Joni,
I am hoping to work back into it slowly, I think having two little ones will help with that. I can’t wait to play soccer again this summer….that will make me feel like my old self again 🙂
And Lachlan is pretty cute….love your recent photo’s of him. Hope you are doing great.
