2014 Goals

Happy New Year!!!! 2014 …. 2..0…1…4…Wow! I remember when it was 1999 and thinking the year 2000 was going to be weird. It wasn’t. Some days I can’t believe how fast each year goes by, especially with two little ones now.

My goals for 2014: Live in the moment. Be present. Laugh and Be Happy!

More specific goals:

1. Running

  • Run a 5K personal best (under 29 minutes)
  • Run a 1oK under 60 minutes
  • Complete a 2nd 1/2 Marathon
  • Get a Treadmill: run 4 times per week and at least once outside
  • Run 1000 km this year (621 miles)
  • Clock all miles I run in 2014 – I even created a running book after seeing my fellow blogger’s picture last night
  • Be proud of my running

My goals haven’t changed here except that I’ve confirmed (with myself) to do my second 1/2 Marathon this year. I’ve toyed with the idea for far to long now and really have nothing holding me back.

2. Family

  • Play more outside with my girls/husband
  • Have more patience/let the small stuff go
  • Stress less about what I’m not doing with my kids (crafting, music) and enjoy what I am doing with them every day

3. Personally

  • Reach ultimate weight by the end of 2014
  • Live with less
  • Read more books
  • Get better sleep
  • Date night with my husband every time he is home
  • Workout 4-5 times per week: running, soccer game, DVD workouts, snowshoeing, skiing, swimming, yoga, etc.

4. Blog

  • Blog four times a week
  • Continue to write for TOTS Family
  • Comment more and follow new bloggers
  • Connect better with the Ambassador’s programs I am involved in.

I feel like my goals aren’t too different to last year’s but maybe a little more focused. And a little more of this:

  1. I know each year time seems to move faster, i keep thinking the 90’s were 10 years ago. Your kids are adorable, hope you can reach all you goals this year. Happy 2014 🙂

  2. You have some great goals here! I think you will rock them all this year. 🙂 One of mine is also to have more patience and not to sweat the small stuff. It’s going to be a tough one for me. 🙂

  3. Love the tesh.com graphic at the end of this post, and always enjoy your pics. Hope you have a fun and happy new year. I was thinking about 2000 this past week too… where have these last years gone so quickly?

    • Now, you are scaring me…ha ha! I sat down and did the math last night with Sai and I figure when we get the treadmill I should be able to run 15km a week. And if I train for a 1/2 I will be upping my km – I hope it’s attainable!

I’m glad I inspire you because you do the same for me and it’s nice to have a running buddy. AND a running buddy that finds races and says “wanna do this?” So, thanks! 🙂

  4. YAYYY!! Do you know what half you’re interested in? Or around when you want to race? I’m so excited for you haha! I’m also going to try to log all of my miles. I’m doing it in Excel though- because I’m lazy and don’t want to have to add all of that at the end of the year haha.

    • I’m not sure what half I’m going to do but I am thinking the fall. My first half (many years ago) was in May at the Bluenose Marathon but I kinda want to do something different. There are two in October; one about 10 minutes from where I live (Valley Harvest Marathon) and another one is the PEI Marathon (about 4-5 hours away…where my husband works).

I love hearing about the way’s people are tracking their miles/km for running or their workouts. It’s great…blogging is such a motivational way to keep going!

    • Thanks! I sure hope so.

And you’ve sure set some amazing stats last year! Wow, I can even begin to think about the amount of time you have invested in training – well done..to you AND your family. Cheers!
