Most blogger just blog about good things that are happening in their lives. I mean, really , who wants to blog about crappy things…not me. But I’m going to today.
It’s not life or death (thank goodness).
No one was hurt (thank goodness)
But it’s been one of those days….well 24 hours more like it.
I am now babysitting water…
I’ll start with some positives in the last few days:
- Sai was home 🙂
- Lilly and I had a day together – got our hair cut and out for lunch
- Saï and Hilary got to hang out together, watch the Olympics, play and a lunch date too.
- Saï and I got to go on a date! We went to Sushi Fang (Sushi and Thai food) – didn’t take any pictures – whoops! But it was AWESOME!
- We had a fun play date/watched the Canadian Men’s team win gold with our friends.
No so good things:
- Saï had to leave and go back to work 😦
- We have no water. NO, WATER!!!!
- Girls are sick and Hilary was up most of the night.
- Missed my Physio appointment this morning and had to take today off work 😦
We had NO WATER. Nothing. Zilch. Zero. Nothing coming out of the taps and the toilets wouldn’t flush. I called my awesome neighbour and she literally came running over to help. Then I called a friends husband who came over to check it out. We ended the night with no water. I got the girls to bed and decided that I couldn’t run because I couldn’t shower. Who wants to go to bed after sweating ??? Not me. Run failed 😦
I had to cancel my Physio appointment and a few meetings at work since I had to stay home and wait for a plumber to come fix our water. Well…………let’s just say, we now have NEW everything! New, holding tank, new power box and new pump in our well….along with a new bill we were not expecting. Bummer….
I now am sitting here babysitting our water. Yes folks, I have to turn our water on every so often and test the colour to get all the sediment out. Then we have to wait 4-5 days until we can shower/wash clothing.
So much for running, showering and catching up on missed sleep from last night. Guess, I’ll go turn the water on and watch it flow out … maybe I’ll vacuum too – get all domestic today.
The joys of owning your own home and adulthood was brought to you by the letters (and number) H 2 O.
Ever have to fix your well?
Tell me something good that happened today?
4 to 5 DAYS!? Oh no!!! I’m so sorry. I’m glad you did get some fun out of your weekend though and I hope everyone feels better quickly. We rent an apartment and they have turned our water off for maintenance things from time to time, but nothing like that.
Good thing we have awesome neighbours and friends close by. … might even make a weekend trip to the grandparents to hang out and do laundry 🙂
I cannot even imagine — good lord. That is obscene!
It’s been f-u-n!
Oh dear- that’s rough! The things we take for granted until we don’t have them! Yikes. Hope you can see some good in the next few days.
I was trying to decide if having no water or having no power was worse….still undecided.
No power. We have well water and no power means no water either. It means no sump pump either and that can lead to backed up water in the basement. We have a battery on ours, but that only lasts so long.
Good call! We have a wood stove and could keep warm that way/cook etc. Got to see the positive already – managed to vacuum the basement – funny how that is a positive 😉
Urgh that sounds HORRIBLE! I unfortunately don’t have all that much cheerful to add. I have just decided to ditch yoga on the basis that I am having a particularly nasty time of the month and I.just can’t face it… so I’m feeling a bit pathetic. Not that that comes anywhere near your water troubles 😦
Mines just very frustrating more than anything.
Oh nooooooooo. I can’t believe it takes 4-5 days for everything to be working properly. What century is this again????
I sure clarify…I now have running water…though it’s full of chlorine and undrinkable and would bleach our clothing if we did a wash. At least we can wash our hands and flush toilets 🙂
Laundry can wait and our neighbour has offered her shower for the girls and I … as have friends.
man, that’s a pain in the butt! On the bright side, the bad days always make regular life seem so much nicer.
Aww man! Having no water sucks so much, but it makes me appreciate water (the only good side). We’ve had to shut off our water for a day a few times because of pipe leaks and what not. NOT fun at all.
It sure does make you appreciate it. I think what was worse is that it was completely unexpected – more shocking then anything that we all of a sudden didn’t have any water and really hadn’t planned for not having water.
Lesson learned – always have a few jugs and bottles of water (and food) cause you never know when you need it.
Oh it’s definitely worse when you don’t expect it!! Good thing you were smart and realized you wouldn’t be able to shower haha!
Awe!! That SUCKS! Let me know if I can help in ANY way!
Yeah…bit of a bummer. Thanks Krystol!
Oh bummer! We don’t have a well, but we have had unexpected house bills. It’s always a bummer!
Those dang unexpected house bills…I wanna be 4 again 😉

Oh no! Sorry to hear this. No water is a big problem! That happened to us once when our water heater broke. We had to go to our gym to workout …and SHOWER! LOL! 🙂 I hope everything will be fixed soon and no more problems. Happy showering! 🙂
I’m so sorry! So frustrating!
