Lately: What I Ate Wednesday

It’s been a long…LONG time since I wrote a WIAW post!!! I haven’t been posted the foods I’ve been eating because I really haven’t been taken any photos! It was getting to the point if I took a picture of my meal, Lilly would say “take a picture of mine too”…and I would, of course. Not that there is anything wrong with that but I took a little break.

Jenn over at Peas and Crayons is the master mind behind it all – she also has a little cutie on her hands 🙂

We’ve had some good eats lately:

Sai and I had a date night over Easter Weekend 🙂 So we hit up our favourite Halifax restaurant: The Wooden Monkey.

Apparently, I only took pictures of my food – silly me. I had a “root beer”, lamb burger with mint goats cheese and carrot/cumin soup. Yum!

I also ate out for lunch last week at The Port Pub: Mushroom and goats cheese Panini and salad.

Eatin' Out!

Eatin’ Out!

A few other eats we had:

Top left: Coconut yogurt with granola, banana and strawberries.

Top Right: Fresh summer salad I made for a Pot Luck (recipe to come)

Bottom Left: Asparagus, summer salad, sweet potatoes and salmon – cooked on the BBQ.

Bottom Right: Heaven! Kidding…the girls loot from their day care Easter Egg hunt!!!

Yum Yum

Yum Yum

That’s what I’ve been fueling my body with these days. And now the honest truth…I am hungry ALL THE TIME! Seriously, it’s worse then when I was pregnant with both girls. I’m running 20-30km a week and can’t get enough food in me. What’s a girl to do?

What have you been eating lately?

Do you take pictures of your food when at a restaurant ? Do you feel weird, like I do?

Runners: are you hungry ALL THE TIME?

  1. that summer salad looks great, I look forward to the recipe! I’m more normal now but for a couple days last week I felt hungry all the time, I think my body was adjusting to the increase in my strength training so maybe it’s just a side effect of upping your training.

    • It’s super yummy! Keep an eye out next week for it….Hopefully I can pull it together by then 🙂 It’s crazy how hungry one gets when your more active!

  2. I am often hungry all the time. Mostly though I am just ravenous after a run and tend to eat quite a bit and then am ok. My husband is also a runner and he is hungry nonstop but he makes much better choices than me. It is infuriating!

  3. ROOT BEER–If you like RB, check out my post today–there is a special RB in there you might need to check out. And I love your idea of “heaven”–mine is usually a bowl of ice cream, but the candy raid looks like my backpack after my infusion yesterday–they told me to take some of it off their hands! I was just helping! I do take pics of my food at restaurants, but that is generally if we haven’t been there before or if I am going to review it. I might feel weird, if we are out with people, but then i tell them why, and I’m fine after that. And yes. RUNGER.

    • I love Root Beer!!!
I feel really weird taking photo’s of my food when out at a restaurant….it just doesn’t seem right. I’ve only done it a few times but am sure i’ll do it again 😉

      • You get used to it. It helps that it is more and more of the culture. I feel weird if we are with company and they don’t know about the blog. Ultimately it comes down to wanting to just eat lol.

  4. I’m finding that if I up my mileage that I get crazy hungry. I’ve just been adding an extra afternoon snack – usually fresh pineapple or cherry tomatoes.

I take photos of food at home but do feel a little weird about doing it in public especially if I’m eating with other people.
