Being an Canadian girl, I run in kilometers not miles. However, I’ve been trying to convert training plans that only come in miles. Fun times 🙂 I’ve run 5k’s, 10k’s and even a 1/2 Marathon {years ago} but have never attempted the FULL Marathon… 26.2 miles or 42.195 kilometers. I never felt the want or need to run a FULL Marathon until the last year or so. It’s on my mind and I have one in mind but am not committing to that at this point…it’s at LEAST another year away. Don’t worry – you’ll be the first to know 😉
So for all you folks thinking about a FULL marathon – check this out. And for all you who’ve done them – hats off to you!
I can only imagine how much food I would want to consume after running a full marathon! And sleep, I’d want to sleep for twice as long as I ran…just sayin’.
Have you run a FULL Marathon?
What’s the farthest you’ve run ?
What is the farthest distance you haven’t run yet but secretly want to? Don’t worry, I won’t tell.
I’ve run 2 full marathons, and 10 half marathons. That is as far as I care to go at this point. I do NOT have the ultramarathon bug…yet. LOL!
Wow! That’s A LOT of running 🙂 Watch out that ultra might pull you in!
I didn’t really have a desire to run a full marathon until early this year, but it hit me really hard and now I’m determined to run my first full next year (hopefully spring)!
Me either. Before my girls were born running a 1/2 Marathon was enough and a FULL was something I NEVER was going to do. Now that we’re done having kids I’m ready for more running challenges 🙂
I have indeed run a full marathon, and I loved it. I think this year, if I can make it, will be my swan song with the marathon–a chance to do it again, but I am just not needing the longer mileage anymore!
I’m about to run my furthest distance this Sunday: 20+ km… in the mountains… EEEK! I am terrified and excited at the same time! 😀 My furthest training distance so far is 16.8km. xoxo
Good luck….you’ll rock it I’m sure 🙂
I’ve done 9 fulls, 2 Ironmans, and a couple of trail ultramarathons. Going long rocks, and once you give in and embrace the distance there is no going back.
My favorite post-race meals are quite varied. Most of the time there is a cheeseburger involved, but I go after lots of vegetarian foods too. Mostly it takes quantity and a steady stream of food. I get hungry about every hour, so you have to keep eating something constantly.
That’s a lot of running, training and laundry 😉
Ha, nice! Yes, I’ve run 4 fulls – all at Disney with the last being the Dopey Challenge. I prefer halves though – less time to prepare and recover from.
I still can’t get my mind around Dopey – that’s just crazy & awesome!
