After yesterday’s little extra snooze session, I thought I was getting back on track. I even packed my bag the night before so I could run during my lunch break – you know, a “runch”. Win – win for everyone, right!?!?!?
I spent the morning hydrating and eating food at the right time so that I could run and THEN eat my lunch. As I opened my bag and starting pulling out my running sneakers and clothing, I KNEW I had made a mistake.
I forgot my sports bra! Frig! (And that’s not really what I said but it started with the letter F, so you get the point).
Well, sh*t, I forgot my sports bra…worst thing I could forget…besides my running shoes.
Option #1: Run in normal bra and not wear a bra for the rest of the afternoon.
Option #2: Run in normal bra and wear a sweaty bra all afternoon.
Option #3: Run without a sports bra.
After 5 minutes of contemplating each option, I decided NO to all options. I just couldn’t do it. What a fail…I was so pumped up about the run.
I managed to get my run in and more later that night. But, really, I just wanted to hang out with my husband since he was home. After we got the girls to bed, I hopped on the treadmill. My run went a little like this:
Run 1k, 40 jumping jacks, 30 crunches, 20 squats, 10 push ups and then repeated this 5 times.
After the first round I kinda thought it was going to be a weak workout. Then around 1/2 way I decided I should add some weights to the squats…yeah bad idea. As each kilometer started I would increase my speed and incline and my little legs where just pumping during that last kilometer!
I got off the treadmill and got ready for my last set of jumping jacks, crunches, squats and push- ups….man this round was WEAK!!
BUT…at least I had my sports bra on 🙂
Ever forget that essential piece of gear for a run or workout?
What have you forgotten in the past?
What run / workout combo do you like to do?
I forgot my sports bra last week when I was just trying to fit a quick run in at the gym. For me, running without one is NOT AN OPTION. With my bra size, it’s practically illegal. I got on the spin bike instead and pedaled my heart out.
I probably could have gotten away without one but it would have been extremely weird and uncomfortable.
Ugh I hate that. it’s like forgetting underwear for a trip.
Yeah, that sucks. I’ve gone commando before but not bra less…just can’t do it.
Worse feeling ever when you go to get ready!
I was so pumped up AND motivated…then boom…couldn’t run 😦
That’s just the worst when that happens. It’s usually my shoes I forget. One time I was at a gym and they let me borrow shoes. Gross but I really didn’t want to skip my workout!
It is, isn’t it! Borrowing shoes would be interesting…hope they had some socks for ya 😉
I’ve forgotten my sports bra before. Ugh I was so mad! I just wore my regular bra. It was after work at the gym, so I didn’t have to worry about wearing a sweaty bra all day….but I had a tank top on so I felt really awkward with my regular bra straps showing to everyone in the gym!
Once I forgot socks for a track workout. That wasn’t as big of a deal, I just ran sockless….made for some stinky shoes though
I was really mad too! You know, when I see someone with a normal bra on working out…I’m not going to judge them but think back to the day when I didn’t have one and couldn’t work out.
Yes I did this a few months ago. It was so annoying. A friend had picked me up and we drove out of the city to run. I ran in my regular sports bra. Ouch! Ouch! Ouch! The chafing sucked!
It is super annoying!
Anne, I’m so rusty when it comes to working out. Would you believe I can’t even find my sports bras? It’s been THAT long since I hit the pavement. Perhaps it’s time to get physical again . . .
Oops! I meant “Anna.” Sorry, it’s been an exhausting day around these parts.
No worries on the name…. sometimes I call my girls Lillary (Lilly & Hilary). You can do it…find that sports bra and get out there….you deserve it!
I cannot imagine working out without my sports bra. I think I’d give myself a black eye.
I know! It just wouldn’t feel right and black eye’s just aren’t cool!
