Weekend Up’s & Downs in Photos

The weekend started off early for me, sadly I was super sick last week with a nasty head cold and took Thursday AND Friday off work to sleep. Who knew catching up on sleep, drinking lots of water, some drugs…okay a lot of drugs and really doing nothing can help get you better! (I have a hard time taking sick days).

Thursday, I was cheered up pretty quickly once I checked the post box:

Pair for me, pair for my husband and a pair for my running buddy.

Friday I slept….kinda hard to take a photo of yourself sleeping 😉 Saturday – a little snow shoveling and playing in our winter wonderland!

Saturday afternoon after running some errands, I managed a slow and steady 5k run in my old yak tracks.

Sunday: Lilly skied with Grandad and Hilary snowshoed with me walking.

Skiing & Snowshoeing again :)

Once we got home, we painted the town….oh I mean snow!

It was a pretty good weekend but it didn’t go without struggles. My Dad came to help with Lilly skiing which is why I was able to get outside for a quick 5k run. I’m so lucky to have him help out with the girls.

Even though we did lots of fun stuff, I was still stressed out mainly because I’m so tired. Hilary is still waking up throughout the night which means I don’t get to sleep. I even bought a FitBit Flex to track my sleeping and for the last three days the sleep function won’t work – frustrating.

Anyway, I was reminded this morning at how lucky I am to have these two girls in my life/our lives. I just have to remember this when they don’t listen or I’m frustrated.

Oh, and I injured my hamstring again by doing too much on Saturday 😦 I am extremely bummed about this and have booked a physio appointment to start proper treatment. Last night, I had an hour long conversation with my husband as he drove home from work in PEI. Nothing like a supportive husband to get you through your funk. It looks like FULL Marathon training is going to have to wait…for now.

How was your weekend?

Get up to any adventures?

Anyone run in the snow? (or heat)
