Oh I had an awesome run the other night.
I can only run 3 x week (boo) and do my PT exercises 4 x week, so Tuesday was my night to run. I wasn’t really feeling it and started to procrastinate with house chores! CRAZY, I know! Who am I???? Actually starting to choose chores over running? I better get my hamstring back to normal soon or my house is going to be spotless.
I digress.
I jumped on THE BEAST and did my little warm up and planned to run my normal 5k but to be honest, I REALLY…really wanted to run 6-7km. I just needed a longer run. It’s sad that 6-7km is a long run for me these days. I just want to run, run, run long distances.
So I started running and only looked at the distance twice. I was running strong, confident and everything felt great. When I looked at my distance I was over 5k and figured I just round it off at 6km.
It was the run that I needed. I good, solid run. God, that felt GOOD!
I was a little later stretching and doing my PT exercises then I wanted to be and went off to bed rather late. Whoops! Wednesday my hamstring hurt but only when sitting and of course I was on the road for work. I iced it a few times and that seemed to help a little.
Today’s my running day and then I have physiotherapy tomorrow. I’m super bummed about not running at the Bluenose Marathon this weekend. I almost don’t want to be there as I think I’ll just get frustrated that I’m not running. There is no way I can run outside if I’m having pain after running 6k on the treadmill so I just have to suck it up and get over it. Time to put on my big girl panties.
Man…I sure enjoyed that run.
This is waiting for me when I get home tonight. I’ll make dinner, play with the girls, bath them, put them to bed….get my running gear on and RUN. The laundry and dishes are just going to have to wait tonight 🙂
When was the last time your REALLY enjoyed your run/workout?
Any plans for the weekend?
Who’s hitting up the Bluenose Marathon?

YAY!!! This is great news!!!! I’ve been struggling this week with my runs, but know they all can’t be flawless.
I totally procrastinate running with house chores…and I hate house chores!!! So glad you had a good run!! Hope that hammy decides to stop being so angry SOON!
Woohoo! Sometimes a good run can really just make everything better.
To tell you the truth, I love running 3x a week because it makes each run that much more special. I can’t wait for that first run back, which we all know will suck terribly. But I will enjoy the suck!
I feel so limited with only being allowed to run 3 days a week; I always find it hard to decide which days to run. Run three days in a row. Run every other day, run 1 day then 2 days off! Decisions, decisions. Hope you are doing well with your foot.
yay! I actually really enjoyed my run this morning as well. Went 6 miles instead of the planned 5, and pushed the speed a bit. Still couldn’t get the speed where it used to be, but I’ll take the numbers that I was seeing. no problems there.
I wish you were running bluenose too 😦
Next year 🙂
Hooray for a good run! It feels so good when you get one after being injured. So happy for you!
