We are half way through January already folks, can you believe it! I’ve still yet to set any 2018 goals (well, they are in my head but not shared yet). Nor have I shared any monthly goals.
One thing I’m trying to do is write a weekly wrap up…so far I’m two for two! I’m linking up with Hollyand Wendy for the Weekly Wrap. I have been busy trying to stay active in between work, winter storms, kids basketball practices and life in general. I’m sure you can all relate to how life is busy!
Weekly Wrap for Jan 8th – 14th
Monday: 4k Treadmill Run/Walk.
Tuesday: Yoga Flow at lunch time – my body needed this!
Wednesday: 5k Treadmill run. Yeah, still have my #merrymill lights up. I had a few a-ha moments during this run which lead me to not post my goals for the year last week. Nothing major but it helped me scale things back a bit.
Thursday: Physio appointment + exercises.
Friday: Rest Day. a.k.a….was lazy and really didn’t want to work out. TRUTH!
Saturday: 12.5km ride. I think I went that far….my odometer needs a new battery so it was a little off. If anything, I went further then 12.5k but that was the last number I saw.
Sunday: 21.42km ride. I rode for a full 60 minutes and the last 20 was intense!
Total km running: 9
Total km cycling: 33.92
I haven’t set any goals for the month of January but have been focusing on trying to stay active while dealing with a hip/oblique injury. This isn’t a new one injury as I’ve been dealing with it since the summer but finally getting the right treatment for it now. So I guess my January goals are….
January Goals
- Stay Active
- Go to Physio (sort out hip/obliques)
- Enjoy time with family.
I’m keeping it simple this month – maybe even this year. Sure I want to run all the races, run a sub 2 hour half marathon, get all the PB’s, save money, declutter my house, take my kids camping. Those things will happen when they are supposed to happen. For now (January) – stay active, go to physio, enjoy time with family.
How was your week?
Did you set any goals for January?
Do you have a big goal for 2018?
I don’t always post on here but you can find me posting daily over at Instagram.
Weekly Wrap Up
I need to put my bike in the trainer! After this week of cold weather running, I”m going to take it inside!
Time to get it on the trainer!!!
Great week Anna! I especially like the goal of enjoying time with family! My goal for the month is to successfully finish the Whole30 food reset 😊
Simple is good! I just got my bike back from the shop after its annual tune-up but I haven’t put it on the trainer yet. Hopefully I will get to that this week.
I need to give my bike a little attention – still have some dirt on it from November!
So glad to hear you’ve got a course of treatment for your hip! I love that your lights are still up on the ‘mill – anything to help keep it interesting 🙂
I had a trainer a few years back and never used it.I tend to hit up spin class in the winter and wait until April to venture outside on my bike
That’s fun! I wish I could get to a spin class!
I start PT next Friday and I’m really looking forward to it already. Not that I need more exercises in my life but I need to figure out this hamstring issue.
Sounds like you’re sorting through your hip issue, too! Great week!
Hope your PT session goes well. It will be worth it in the end! Fingers crossed I’m back to running soon…you as well!
Great week of workouts! I don’t have a trainer but I do like to take spinning classes every week if possible. I really enjoy them!
We have a stationary bike (in the basement) but I never think of using it (duh!). I guess I’d rather hit the stairway LOL My January goals are 20 minutes of daily cardio and strength-training…so far, so good. I’ll be curious to hear how the hip work works for you!
No goals for me. Just run and race when I can and enjoy both.
Hope you are back to normal soon.
Back in my triathlon days I lived on the trainer! I always felt like it was really efficient!
Sounds like you did great!
My goals for 2018 include running 1000 miles and keeping up with my cross training So far, I am right on track, and I’m pretty excited about it!
Hah, I love your rush of goals and your dose of reality. I’m still in goal-mulling-over stage myself.
My week was quite intense traveling and I am currently in Kenya. 😀 Hope you get to spend more time with your family this month and throughout the whole year! 🙂
Oh I hope your hip/oblique injury heals up soon! The goal I have is to finish marathon number two in March!
I like your merry mill lights! I might have to deck mine out like that this year!
I like the simplicity of your January goals. Sometimes simpler is better, especially since it makes it easier to take steps towards reaching them.
I don’t set goals or resolutions,so I love your keep it simple plan. Last year was a struggle for me with a few injury setbacks (and another reason I like your plan). I hope you get your hip and oblique issue sorted out and will enjoy your adventures in 2018. How creative to put the lights on the treadmill. I think you should leave them there all year! Thanks for linking!
