February Mileage

Oh February, we weren’t really running friends were we?

I only ran twice outside but managed 27.03 km of running between those two runs and my soccer games. So my legs got in some mileage.

We (family) skied twice, I had three soccer games, we skated outside twice and I made it to three yoga classes.

Though I didn’t run a much, I still had an active month with other winter activities. I also walked my dog 2+km most days of the weeks, so lots of walking.

I’m still far away from signing up for any spring races but think I need to start training to run a 5k or 10k race. At this point a spring half is out the door. And that’s okay.

January Mileage

With no planned mileage for January, I managed some decent numbers. I’m pretty happy with my mileage in January.

I was sick for close to three weeks but plugged through it and tried to keep active. January is usually a very low running mileage month for me, mainly because we are skiing or snowshoeing. Between a few wintery outdoor runs, indoor soccer games, a trip to England with my family, a few ski days and one yoga class, my monthly mileage was pretty good!

I’ve yet to set any goals for the year but I’m working on a list of “things I want to do”.

It’s super cold….everywhere, so its bundle up in layers season everywhere too. I’m hoping to get in a few more outdoor runs in February.

I’m still doing my bullet journal and got a little more colourful in January. Also, I’m currently writing this from my phone and thinking this might be the new way of blogging for me. Quick, short posts sandwiched between some longer posts. We’ll see!

January Mileage

With February ticking away quickly, I finally got together my January mileage. Though it has few kilometres of running, it sure has a lot of other winter activities that I love!

January was a month of simple goals. My main focus is to get my hip/obliques stronger so I can get running A LOT more! You know, train for an upcoming half that I have yet to register for. Also, I want to get back to soccer (I’m crazy, yeah I know) but that will happen when it happens.

January saw a lot of cycling, a little running and lots of winter fun. I haven’t cross-country skied in a few years so it was great to get out and do that; fingers crossed I can get out again this month! The girls are loving skating and wanting to go more and more.

Though there was little running, I got in a lot of cross training and no one every said cross training is a bad thing!
