Happy 4th Blogiversary Piper’s Run!

Wow, it’s amazing how fast time goes by. It’s been four years since I started blogging! Yesterday was Piper’s Run 4th blogiversary!

What started off as a way to keep myself accountable to being active has morphed into something completely different. It’s become part reflecting on my running, struggling with injuries, attempting to become a yogi, along with a side of family shenanigans.

Piper!

I have to admit, I almost didn’t hit “renew” on my blog this time around. I’m not sure why but for the last two months I just wasn’t sure if I wanted to continue blogging. I’m trying to reduce the amount I’m online and blogging takes up a lot of my time. I don’t get paid for this blog, it’s just a side hobby that I enjoy doing. I guess I like writing more then I thought I would.

Last winter

So you’ve got me for another year at least. Let’s hope I have lots of training plans, running struggles and no injuries to report on. Don’t worry, there will be lots of shenanigans from my family and random life stuff.

I do truly appreciate you taking the time to read my blog {Mom & Saï}, comment or share a blog post on social media. Thanks for stopping by!  Also, I’m always open to suggestions for blog posts.

Also, thanks Santa for reading my last post…I slept for 14 hours Friday night and another 9 hours Saturday night!!!!! Thanks again for following my journey, leaving comments, checking in to see how I’m doing while I was injured, all the encouragement and support.

Cheers, Piper ……a.k.a Anna 🙂

2015 Goals

I’ve been putting off this post not because I was afraid to post it but because I really wanted to take some time to confirm what I actually wanted to do this year. It’s not that different from last year but it is at the same time. Last years goals can be found here and then what I accomplished here.

Random

  • Yoga 3x week
  • Cross train more – strong body (not weight focused, not fitness competition focused just stronger all over).
  • Stretch more after running / working out (avoid injury)
  • Take a pottery class *new interest*
  • Take a photography class/course *has been on my bucket list for 5-6 years*

Family

  • Date nights / lunches with my husband
  • More patience with my girls
  • Play outside *all year round*
  • Family adventures together

And now it’s on the blog….published.

I’m ready.

This shit is about to get real!

What are your 2015 goals or resolutions for the year?

Anything BIG you want to do in 2014?

How are your goals/resolutions going so far?

Where is Piper’s Run Today?

One thing I like about the blogging community is the opportunity to learn, share and support one another. Today, I’m a guest blogger over at Ange’s blog – CowGirlRuns 🙂 She’s off gallivanting … kidding, she’s running an Ultra Ragnar – Good luck! I thought it would be fun to write about running on the east coast of Canada instead of the west coast where she lives. You can check it out here –> Running East Coast.

I also write over at Thinking Outside The Sandbox – Family. Recently, I wrote about making sensory bottles – aka time out bottles. You can read more of my TOTS Family blog posts here.

Since I’m doing some shout outs, I finally updated my Piper’s Run Facebook Page

Do you write for other blogs regularly?

Do you write random guest posts for other bloggers, yes or no?

Any weekend plans? Mine are to get my family healthy again and time with my hubby (no kids!)

Share your social pages or blog links in the comments below. (Please and thank-you)

Cheers, Piper 🙂

2014 Goals

Happy New Year!!!! 2014 …. 2..0…1…4…Wow! I remember when it was 1999 and thinking the year 2000 was going to be weird. It wasn’t. Some days I can’t believe how fast each year goes by, especially with two little ones now.

My goals for 2014: Live in the moment. Be present. Laugh and Be Happy!

anna and lillian jan 1 2014

More specific goals:

1. Running

  • Run a 5K personal best (under 29 minutes)
  • Run a 1oK under 60 minutes
  • Complete a 2nd 1/2 Marathon
  • Get a Treadmill: run 4 times per week and at least once outside
  • Run 1000 km this year (621 miles)
  • Clock all miles I run in 2014 – I even created a running book after seeing my fellow blogger’s picture last night
  • Be proud of my running

My goals haven’t changed here except that I’ve confirmed (with myself) to do my second 1/2 Marathon this year. I’ve toyed with the idea for far to long now and really have nothing holding me back.

2. Family

  • Play more outside with my girls/husband
  • Have more patience/let the small stuff go
  • Stress less about what I’m not doing with my kids (crafting, music) and enjoy what I am doing with them every day

3. Personally

  • Reach ultimate weight by the end of 2014
  • Live with less
  • Read more books
  • Get better sleep
  • Date night with my husband every time he is home
  • Workout 4-5 times per week: running, soccer game, DVD workouts, snowshoeing, skiing, swimming, yoga, etc.

4. Blog

  • Blog four times a week
  • Continue to write for TOTS Family
  • Comment more and follow new bloggers
  • Connect better with the Ambassador’s programs I am involved in.

I feel like my goals aren’t too different to last year’s but maybe a little more focused. And a little more of this:
